I don't know, I think the weather changing for the better got me thinking about summertime. I used to go on vacation during the summer, but I stopped because all of the families would go then. I now prefer to go on vacation during the spring or the fall. Summertime to me means summer movies. I love the popcorn action movies and throw in a few comedies. These are the movies I most want to see:
1. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Jeez, what a long title! Based on the last Star Wars movies, I would think this movie would stink like those ones. But with the calming influence of Steven Spielberg (and a decent trailer), I'm actually looking forward to seeing this. It seems to have the feel of the old movies.
2. The Dark Knight - I really liked Batman Begins, so I don't expect Christopher Nolan to screw up the sequel.
3. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - Never read the books, so I don't know what to expect. Everything I've read is that this one has more action than The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
4. Wall*E - C'mon, it's Pixar! They haven't made a bad movie yet! I loved Ratatouille.
5. Hellboy II: The Golden Army - The trailer made this one look like it was more a sequel to Pan's Labyrinth than to Hellboy. The first movie was kinda blah, so hopefully this one is better.
6. Speed Racer - Hopefully, more The Matrix rather than the sequels. I liked V for Vendetta, so maybe there's hope.
7. The X-Files: I Want to Believe - So do I (want to believe). But it has been a long time since the TV show ended (and ended horribly).
8. Step Brothers - Loved the trailer. This one looks to have the same vibe as Talladega Nights.
9. Kung Fu Panda - I thought this would be stupid, but the trailer wasn't bad. I need to see the reviews.
10. Tropic Thunder - Ben Stiller movies are either really good (e.g. Zoolander, Meet the Parents) or really bad (e.g. The Heartbreak Kid, Envy). I'm on the fence on this one.
Since I'm not a Marvel Comics zombie, I kinda shrug my shoulders on The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. If the reviews are really good and nothing else is out, I'll give it a shot. Otherwise, it wouldn't kill me to miss these.
